Laurie Nienhaus is an author, playwright and public speaker living on Fort Myers Beach in Florida. Her books, plays and programs most often reflect her passion for humor and history. She is currently working on a short story, A Shark's Tale, and a new program, True Tea Tales.
Laurie Nienhaus founded The Ladies Tea Guild, a national organization for tea and history lovers, in 2000. Hosting monthly tea events in SW Florida, she also trained local chapter directors around the United States via yearly retreats, phone conferences and a manual called The Teatime Primer, written by herself.
Her efforts ultimately lead her to public speaking and the writing of books and plays.
Today Laurie is sought out as an entertaining, yet educational, speaker. She has spoken across the country from Oregon and Texas to Missouri, Georgia and Florida. She has attended the World Tea Expo as a core conference speaker and has contributed to magazines such as Fresh Cup, Tea in Texas, Victorian Romance, Bustle and Green Prints.
Laurie has two grown children, Kenny and Torie Montana, and two grand-children, Sully and Riot. She lives with her husband, Kenny, and her mini Aussie shepherd, Lily Bell, on Fort Myers Beach in Florida.
